The Westminster sisters decided to raise money to help shelter dogs have a better shot at life. With their parents' help, they came up with the "Make a Sale, Save a Tail" project and sold Christmas scented lotions, raising more than $1,000 for Shelter-Me Photography. The Colorado-based Shelter-Me nonprofit accelerates the adoption process for homeless animals by providing professional photography services at no charge to animal welfare agencies throughout the U.S. More...

Tips from the Experts

Winter safety for pets

Wintertime can be fun-filled for all, even pets. But, there are also dangers, according to the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association. Antifreeze can be deadly to your pet. Its sweet taste is appealing, and once symptoms are noticed, it is too late and many pets die due to this toxic chemical. Be sure to keep your pets away from antifreeze and if you see it, clean it up. Cold temperatures are hard on our pets, too. Without proper shelter, pets can suffer from frostbite and hypothermia. Provide adequate shelter, plenty of blankets for warmth, and water that will not freeze. Older pets, pets with arthritis and even puppies may be more severely affected by cold weather..

Dumb Friends League

"Hey, I'm Guy – a 7-year-old, neutered male short-hair cat. I am ready and waiting to go home for the holidays with my forever person or family. I think chin scratches and belly rubs are awesome! I also enjoy sitting in laps and cuddling under cozy, warm blankets. Quality time with special people can't be beat!" Guy's ID # is A0585617. For more adoption information, click here.
