The gym where tiny Elbert High School has played its basketball games since 1957 has character. And eccentricity. With school consolidation and new facilities being built, the undersized bandbox gyms are disappearing.

Avs' Hejduk needs 411 games to catch Sakic
The only three captains in Avalanche history are now the only three players to have played at least 967 regular-season games for the Colorado-Quebec franchise. Current captain Milan Hejduk reached 967 games Saturday night, tying the retired Adam Foote.
