U.S. dominates at Royal Melbourne, building 11-6 lead in the Presidents Cup
Two perfect teams and a point for Tiger Woods. That was all the Americans needed today in the rain at Royal Melbourne to build a 11-6 lead in the Presidents Cup and put the International team in serious danger of falling too far behind to recapture the cup on home soil.

Today's Avalanche

Avalanche to practice more often at Pepsi Center
With the NBA's Nuggets not playing and the prospects of a season murky at best, the Avalanche will use the available time at the Pepsi Center to practice more there soon.

All Things Avs

Postgame Avs-Stars: Jiggy dusts Stars
Get it? I hesitate to use the words “goaltending controversy.” It’s more like a “goaltending conversation” when a hockey team has a couple of goalies that fans are split upon wanting in the net. So, with the Avalanche as things stand now, what we have is one guy – J.S. Giguere – who has allowed

All Things Broncos

What are the NY papers saying now?
We all saw the “God Help Him” New York tabloid cover earlier this week. Well, now that that Broncos — and Tim Tebow — beat the Jets 17-13 last night in Denver, what did the papers come up with today? See for yourself: So what do you think, are the covers fair? Funny? There is

Today's Colleges

Tragedy hits OSU again as women's basketball coaches die in plane crash
Kurt Budke turned Oklahoma State's women's basketball team into a winner and hoped he'd found the place where he'd coach until he retired. Miranda Serna had passed up opportunities to leave his side, staying loyal to the man whom she had helped to win a junior college national championship and then rebuild a big- time college program.

Today's Nuggets

UCLA and NBA great Walt Hazzard dies
Walt Hazzard, the former UCLA and NBA star who played on the Bruins' first NCAA championship basketball team in 1964 and later coached the team for four seasons in the 1980s, died Friday. He was 69.

Today's Rockies

Rockies' Todd Helton "fine" with recovery of back in offseason
The assumption was only half correct. It was generally believed that Todd Helton played only four times in September, and not once in the last three weeks, because the Rockies were afterthought in the standings.

All Things Rockies

Rockies add Friedrich, Cabrera to 40-man roster
Christian Friedrich, a former first-round draft choice, and promising young pitcher Edwar Cabrera were added to the Rockies’ 40-man roster today. Friedrich, 24, experienced a disappointing season at Double-A Tulsa, going 6-10 with a 5.00 ERA. However, he remained healthy and didn’t miss a start until prescribed rest at season’s end. Cabrera, 24, moved onto

Dave Krieger

Krieger: Broncos' defense a template for success
There are only two known templates for ultimate success in the modern NFL game.

Woody Paige

Woody Paige: Tebow proves to be the wheel deal in sequel to "The Drive"
With 58 seconds to go Thursday night, as Tim Tebow ran across the goal line with the winning touchdown, John Elway stood up to applaud and whistle.
