CALGARY — Avalanche forward Kevin Porter played at Michigan, and Vancouver forward David Booth played at Michigan State. The bad blood ends there. Porter was apologetic today about his mid-ice check that injured Booth and resulted in his five-minute major for kneeing and game misconduct early in Tuesday’s 6-0 loss to the Canucks in Vancouver.

Willis McGahee didn’t practice for the Broncos today, but he said this afternoon that he plans on playing Sunday against the Bears. McGahee is listed as having a knee injury on the team’s injury report, an injury suffered late in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 35-32 win at Minnesota. McGahee limped off the field on
