Broncos, Tebow lose to Chiefs, Orton; but Denver wins AFC West title
This was a celebration without cheers. A party without music, or food or drink. For the first time in six years, the Broncos are going to the playoffs as AFC West champions.

Today's Avalanche

Avalanche's Paul Stastny happy to greet new year
It was a bit of a crazy season a year ago for Paul Stastny. He had perhaps the poorest stretch of hockey statistically in his career, yet he still played in the NHL All-Star Game in Raleigh, N.C.

All Things Avs

Varlamov in net tomorrow vs. Kings
ANAHEIM – Avalanche just wrapped up practice here at the Honda Center. I’m sitting inside a completely dark building typing this. They literally have turned out the lights inside the building. But sun is streaming through the alcoves of the building, creating a very cool, creepy effect. You should be here. In fact, I just

All Things Broncos

LeGrand a popular guy in Broncos locker room
Eric LeGrand was just a child when he found his football idol: Denver running back Terrell Davis. LeGrand was a Pee Wee football running back in 1997 and 1998 when Davis starred for the Broncos, earning the Super Bowl MVP award in 1997 and rushing for more than 2,000 yards and earning league MVP honors

Today's Colleges

Denver Pioneers looking forward to reinforcements
At Christmas, the University of Denver looked like the definition of mediocrity. The Pioneers were 8-7-3 and had lost four of six games behind a third-string freshman goalie who was brought in on an emergency basis last summer.

Today's Nuggets

Nuggets smother Kobe Bryant, beat Lakers 99-90
They smothered him, double-teamed him, rattled him and battled him. And so, for a night, Kobe Bryant wasn't Kobe Bryant.

All Things Nuggets

Winning time still isn't Nuggets time just yet
Danilo Gallinari's missed layup in the pressurized last seconds of the Nuggets' game on Saturday at the Los Angeles Lakers could reasonably be dismissed as nothing more than an unfortunate circumstance – the basketball gods simply blowing the ball off the rim at a bad time. He'll get many more chances this season and beyond,

Today's Skiing

Austrians pinning hopes on young skiers
Austria's domination in the downhill stretches back nearly uninterrupted to the founding of the World Cup circuit in the late 1960s.

Mark Kiszla

Kiszla: Even after ugly loss, Broncos can't shake the mystique
Maybe this is the miracle of Tim Tebow: The Broncos win, even when they lose, lose, lose.

Dave Krieger

Dave Krieger: Have NFL defenses figured out Tim Tebow?
I was on my way from the Mile High press box to the field late in Sunday's game when two passing fans shouted a greeting of sorts: "Hey, you ever heard of Brady Quinn?"

Woody Paige

Woody Paige: Broncos picked the wrong way to win the AFC West
For six years, the Broncos wanted to return to the playoffs in the worst way. They have. Tim Tebow believers in Colorado, the Rocky Mountains and the free world wanted the Broncos quarterback to reach the playoffs so badly. He did.
