Widow, drivers grieve during Wheldon funeral
Of all the indelible moments from Dan Wheldon's public memorial service — fellow IndyCar drivers Dario Franchitti, Scott Dixon and Tony Kanaan serving as pallbearers, his father carrying his racing helmet and country music star Wynonna Judd singing two gripping songs — the heart- wrenching letter from his wife cut deepest.

Today's Avalanche

Avalanche's Matt Duchene demoted to fourth line
Avalanche coach Joe Sacco again showed he doesn't play favorites with his players, demoting top center Matt Duchene to a fourth-line role for Saturday's game against the Blackhawks.

All Things Avs

Postgame Avs-Blackhawks: The Shootout Kings win again
CHICAGO – Fourteen and one. That’s the Burgundy and Blue’s record in the last 15 shootouts. No. 14 in that span came tonight, in a weird and wild game at the rowdy United Center. It can’t be overstated, by the way, how much different it is in that building after all those Bill Wirtz years.

Today's Broncos

Marketing TebowMania: More than just the Broncos' QB
Tim Tebow is balancing a double life. There is Tebow the Broncos quarterback, the 24-year-old second-year NFL player trying to blend in with his teammates while deflecting the intense attention that simmers around him as he prepares to make his first start of 2011 today.

Today's Nuggets

Colorado Miners Community Center giving underprivileged youth hope, meal
Amid the fray of a Denver danger zone, inside a building once lathered with graffiti and gloom, hope is giving out high-fives. A building like this "saved my life," Randy Perkins said, and here in the Elyria area of north central Denver, Perkins provides a haven called the Colorado Miners Community Center. He took over the ravaged, empty building an autumn ago and now greets kids with high-fives, handshakes and hugs.

Today's Rockies

Cardinals blow past Rangers 16-7, lead World Series 2-1
With all signs pointing in the Texas Rangers' favor — playing at home, freeing up the designated hitter — it was the National League's Cardinals who muscled their way to a 16-7 victory.

All Things Rockies

Pujols joins the Babe and Mr. October with breathtaking performance
ARLINGTON, TEXAS — Generally speaking when a Hall of Fame curator is waiting at your locker, it's been a pretty good night. Albert Pujols didn't just clobber the Rangers, didn't just leave his teammates in awe, he took a wrecking ball to the record books. His three home runs tied Babe Ruth and Reggie Jackson

Today's Skiing

Lindsey Vonn opens season with victory in giant slalom
Lindsey Vonn used a blistering finish to win the season-opening World Cup giant slalom Saturday and become the fifth female skier to win a race in all five alpine disciplines.

Mark Kiszla

Mark Kiszla: Broncos' Tebow more than a quarterback
When Tim Tebow talks, some of his most devout fans hear the voice of Jesus, speaking through a quarterback who arrived in Denver to save the Broncos and convert souls.

Dave Krieger

Dave Krieger: Buffs coach Embree has been on this side of football before
On the bright side, Jon Embree has been here before and seen it turn around. It's been a long time, to be sure, since he was a University of Colorado freshman — half a lifetime ago.

Woody Paige

Woody Paige: Time for Broncos to see what Tebow can do
Separately, on different teams over an 11-year-span, John Elway and Tim Tebow won three significant championships and three most-valuable-player trophies at Sun Life Stadium in Miami.
