Bao Bao fest, the Harlem Globetrotters and more

Dance: Bao Bao Fest an African celebration

Performers from Colorado, Ghana and beyond will take the stage in a lively program of dancing, drumming and storytelling. 7 p.m. today. Packard Hall at Colorado College, 5 Cache La Poudre St., Colorado Springs. Free. 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday. Family fun: High-jinks-heavy Harlem Globetrotters

Saturday-Sunday. Get ready for hoops and high jinks when the Harlem Globetrotters come to town. This year's tour features a strong group of rookies, including the first female Globtrotter in nearly 20 years, Colorado's own Fatima "TNT" Maddox. The rookie class also stars the tallest Globetrotter ever, 7-foot-8-inch Paul "Tiny" Sturgess, and the shortest: Jonte "Too Tall" Hall, standing 5 feet, 2 inches. As always, expect the 'Trotters to deliver a flurry of fancy footwork, nimble near-misses and high-flying slam dunks. 2 p.m. Saturday. 1stBank Center, 11450 Broomfield Lane, Broomfield; 303-410-0700. Tickets are $20-$97, available at tickethorse.com or 866-461-6556. 2 p.m. Sunday. Magness Arena at the Ritchie Center, 2240 E. Buchtel Blvd. Tickets are $18-$130; 303-871-2336. harlemglobe trotters.com

YouTube pal "Stevie" hits VH1

7 p.m. Sunday on VH1. Stevie Ryan does a mean Justin Bieber impersonation. Also a spot-on Amy Winehouse, a workable Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian and numerous characters of her own invention. Ryan started making Web-based comedic parodies in her apartment not so long ago. She built an enormous online following for her YouTube videos (most of which are not family viewing, let alone suitable for the office). Ryan eventually attracted the attention of the networks and landed a gig that begins this weekend on VH1. "Stevie TV" will be replayed throughout the evening and across the network's schedule. Will she be the next big YouTube-to-television success story? She's definitely tapped a rich comic vein with a sharp, edgy female perspective on curent pop-culture stars.
