    Today's Food and Dining

Chain reaction: A taste test of suburban restaurant deals: What works and what doesn't?
An admission: I'm not a TGI (Friday's) kind of guy. I grew up in the suburbs, and I had my share of Chili's fajitas and Olive Garden bread sticks as a teenager. But after moving to the city for college, I haven't looked back. Not because they're bad. But because they represent a style of eating out that I'm just not that into.

Thanksgiving etiquette breach was not yours (3/16/12)
Dear Amy: Last year my husband and I received a last-minute Thanksgiving dinner invitation, which we accepted. When I asked what I could bring, the hostess said everything was taken care of. Not wanting to go to the dinner empty-handed, I took her a gift certificate for $25 from a store I know she frequents.

    Theater

Theater review: Curious Theatre's "Becky Shaw" embodies sharp humor that's quite cutting
"Becky Shaw" is the kind of play that reminds us why we go to theater in the first place: to see people who are just like us, only much more interesting. They've got our issues — relationship struggles, self-esteem shortages, crazy parents — but they're sharper and wittier than us, more fun to be around than, say, our own friends.
