what's up Sunlight events How tough are you? Find a partner and then take on Sunlight Mountain's Defiance Challenge, a 10-hour descent on expert terrain. The March 2 event includes prizes, live music, after-party and dinner. Proceeds go to Sunlight Volunteer Ski Patrol. Hang around Sunlight on March 3 for Melanoma Awareness Day, in remembrance of Brad Lanpher, a Sunlight skier who passed away from skin cancer. cool stuff Snowcat tours Great powder, spectacular views, 1,000-plus acres of expert terrain, steeps, trees, cliffs, and bowls — that's what you can expect on a Monarch Mountain snowcat tour. A normal tour will average 10 to 12 runs per day at an average of 900 vertical feet per run. Space is limited to 12 guests per day, and the snowcat runs through early April. Cost: $275.
