Today's Sports Headlines

DU Pioneers win on road, roll past Nebraska-Omaha 3-0
After being denied a full team practice Thursday because weight restrictions on a regional jet prevented 13 of the 22 player-equipment bags from arriving with the team, it has all worked out for the Pioneers.

Today's Avalanche

Malkin keeping Penguins at full speed even in Crosby's absence
Denver hockey fans tonight will get a chance to see the best player in the NHL, who happens to play for the Pittsburgh Penguins. But it isn't Sidney Crosby.

All Things Avs

Sidney Crosby video from Pepsi Center; unfortunately, he won't play tomorrow
Or, should I say, “fortunately” for the Avs? But, no, Sidney Crosby won’t play tomorrow night against the Avs, despite being on the ice for the Penguins at practice today at the Pepsi Center. I shot some crude video of him tipping pucks at the end of practice. What will make this video memorable for

Today's Broncos

Baylor's Ganaway an intriguing big back for Broncos' draft
This draft is filled with smaller running backs — fleet, athletic players who are what most NFL offenses would look at as part-time, change-of-pace players.

All Things Broncos

Next up for Perrish Cox: The NFL
Perrish Cox, a nine-game starting cornerback as a rookie in 2010, was among the Broncos’ final cuts prior to the 2011 season. It would be a tad naive to believe the sexual assault charges against him weren’t a factor in the Broncos decision to let him go. Cox spent his past year out of football

DU Pioneers win on road, roll past Nebraska-Omaha 3-0
After being denied a full team practice Thursday because weight restrictions on a regional jet prevented 13 of the 22 player-equipment bags from arriving with the team, it has all worked out for the Pioneers.

Today's Nuggets

Lawson boosts Nuggets to big win at Houston, 117-105
The Nuggets were running out of ways to offensively rebound the ball. It was a good problem to have - their onslaught upon missed shots had come from seemingly every possible angle on Friday at Toyota Center.

All Things Nuggets

Nuggets HochCast looks at tonight's game vs. Rockets
I take a look at the Nuggets' X-factor heading into this game in Houston, as well as Wilt Chamberlain's historic night from 50 years ago today. Previous HochCasts: -Oscar night! An homage to The Artist - Andre Miller is cold, Benjamin has a cold - Nuggets are like Wu-Tang, family of Rutherford B. Hayes "celebrates"

Today's Post Preps

Ralston Valley routs Resurrection Christian in ice hockey
The Mustangs' hockey team is playing for the moment, and it showed Friday night at Magness Arena. Ralston Valley will head to its third title game tonight in search of its first hockey championship after a 7-2 shellacking of first-year Resurrection Christian in the semifinals.

Today's Outdoors: Hunting and Fishing

Man charged in illegal mountain lion hunts in Colorado, Utah
A Grand Junction hunting guide has been charged in federal court for allegedly conspiring to conduct illegal mountain lion hunts in Colorado and Utah.

Today's Rockies

Tyler Chatwood has stuff to make serious run at starting job with Rockies
Before he was a promising major-league pitcher, Tyler Chatwood was a terrific athlete. Unleashing that athleticism will be crucial in Chatwood's quest to crack the Rockies' starting rotation.

All Things Rockies

Video: Rockies Giambi, Helton sparring after intra-squad scrimmage
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. The final score: Team Giambi 6, Team Helton 0. As you will see, the managerial loss did not rest easy with Todd Helton after Saturday’s intra-squad game. Note: Please excuse the sloppy camera work. I’m new to this video stuff.

Woody Paige

Woody Paige: Rockies veteran Moyer still chasing his dream — at 49
Jamie Moyer, whose glove was older than his catcher, experienced a eureka moment Friday afternoon. Moyer felt young again, and his left arm was alive again.
