After each of her four pregnancies, Sarah Quinlan Byrne faced the challenge of losing 70 pounds. The 5-foot-6-inch woman tried running, walking, spinning, swimming, yoga and lifting weights to get back to her ideal 135-pound body weight.

Movie review: "Marvel's the Avengers" earns a superhero welcome
As titles go, "Marvel's The Avengers" is as unwieldy as Thor's hammer would be for mere mortals. Even so, director Joss Whedon's take on the superhero hookup - which brings together franchises "Iron Man," "Hulk," "Thor" and "Captain America"as well as "Black Widow" and "Hawkeye" - brilliantly exceeds the sum of its parts.

Theater review: "The Joy Luck Club" christens Vintage Theatre's Aurora home
An amusing moment comes early in Vintage Theatre's solid staging of "The Joy Luck Club" at the their new digs off of Colfax Avenue in Aurora. Jing-Mei Woo's mother, Suyuan, has died. An aneurysm, though Jin-Mei's father believes his wife was felled by an idea that had grown too big and was left unexpressed.
