Tyler Anderson is on the clock. The lanky left-handed pitcher whom the Rockies made their first-round draft pick in June made his professional debut last week for Asheville, the Rockies' affiliate in the South Atlantic League.

Avs re-sign Milan Hejduk to one-year contract
Milan Hejduk did not want it to end like that. The Avalanche captain did not want to see his career end after what he admitted was a poor second half of the season.

Milan Hejduk re-signs with Avs
Milan Hejduk is coming back. The Avs captain has agreed to a one-year, $2 million contract. More later… My quick thoughts: Hejduk absolutely didn’t want to go out this way. He wants one more chance to prove to the Avs – and more important, to himself – that he can play still in this league.

They aren't brothers, but in many ways they learned life from the same man. And wide receiver Rod Smith was quick to celebrate that fact when he was selected as the newest member of the Broncos Ring of Fame.

Kobe leads Lakers past Thunder in 99-96 thriller
LOS ANGELES—Kobe Bryant made 18 free throws without a miss and scored 14 of his 36 points in the fourth quarter, and the Los Angeles Lakers rallied late for a 99-96 victory over Oklahoma City in Game 3 on Friday night, cutting the Thunder's second-round series lead to 2-1.

They have been unable to get Rogers straightened out, leading the club to revisit trade opportunities that it explored last winter. At least two American League teams are scouting Rogers, who has struggled
