Prom fashion 2012: This year's dresses, fashion trends run the gamut
A prom gown is the first formal dress a young woman buys and the process often is similar to shopping for a wedding dress. She visits a lot of stores. She takes her mom along. But unlike looking for a bridal gown, selecting a prom dress is all about pleasing herself, not about long-term commitment. The focus is on fun.

Television - Joanne Ostrow

Ostrow: George Zimmerman, Trayvon Martin case tests TV newsrooms
Details are sketchy. Speculation is rife. And the news cycle never sleeps. The impending trial of George Zimmerman in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Fla. with an arraignment scheduled for May, has the potential to be another hyped "trial of the century" for cable news outlets, a spectacle on the order of Casey Anthony, if not O.J. Simpson.

Theater

Theater review: Bewitching "Wicked" still stands strong
It's always a bit strange coming late to a popular-culture party. "The X-Files"? Had to play catch-up when the hit TV series' lesser big-screen spinoffs arrived in the multiplex. "Lost"? I was. The "American Pie" movie franchise? Still haven't taken a fork to that. The blockbuster musical "Wicked" is a slightly different matter. Rating: ***
