Morning headlines from DenverPost.com

Today's Sports Headlines

Broncos busily analyze NFL draft options for 25th pick
Upstairs on the second floor of the Broncos' Dove Valley headquarters, the team's highest-ranking officials will spend the final days before the draft not unlike many of the most die-hard NFL fans.

Today's Entertainment

"Pirates!" director, studio co-founder Peter Lord on Aardman, luxuriant beards
Director Peter Lord brought a couple of friends along to breakfast while in Denver the other week. His guests were stars of "The Pirates! Band of Misfits," the first feature directed by the Aardman Animation studios cofounder in more than 10 years. His last: the successful tale of ruffled feathers "Chicken Run," with Mel Gibson.

5 Reasons to Visit: Pine Grove, Colorado
Don't blink or you'll miss it, but what this tiny town lacks in size, it makes up for in charm. Three years ago Pine Grove successfully petitioned to return Pine — which it had been called since sometime before 1920 — to the name it was given when it came to be in 1886, but either way, it's an apt moniker because the surrounding forests make a trip to this area southwest of Denver a visual delight.

Today's Opinion

Hickenlooper: Solar? Wind? Oil and gas? All of the above in Colorado
The gas station near our neighborhood has raised the price of a gallon of gas by nearly 20 cents in just one week. It's the same everywhere. Gas is climbing to nearly $4 per gallon — essentially a job-killing tax on consumers just as we are beginning to see the economy improve.
