Denver sheriff's captain who sued over alleged rape is fired
Denver's Manager of Safety has fired Cheryl Arabalo, a Denver Sheriff's Department captain who claimed the department covered up her rape by fellow deputies and trumped up charges against her when she complained about it. Sheriff Capt. Frank Gale said Arabalo was terminated within the last two weeks.

All residents evacuated from Lower North Fork Fire allowed back
The Lower North Fork Fire — which started burning May 28 — was 97 percent contained on Sunday, and all the evacuated residents were allowed home today. The fire has destroyed 27 homes, and three people have been found dead inside the fire area.
