Spike & Mikie's Twisted Animation Festival, a spring "EggVenture" and more

Film & Drinks: Sick cartoons, music, dancing and 3-D

Today-Saturday. Last year, hip 13th Avenue watering hole Beauty Bar hosted the long-running Spike & Mike's Twisted Animation Festival for the first time, and this year they're spicing it up. After tonight's screening, the bar will host "Club Cold" DJ sets from notable Mile High City spinners PictureplaneHollagramz and London Dungeon. Saturday night, Beauty Bar will premiere the "interactive 3-D dance party" Rave-Atar 3-D. The brainchild of DJ Soup and Bobby C Sound TV, it features custom 3-D-edited music videos DJ'ed by Soup and Bobby C, and free anaglyph (i.e. red and blue) 3-D glasses. Museum: "EggVenture" fetes the spring

Saturday. Hop over to the Children's Museum of Denver for the "Bunny Trail EggVenture," a celebration of all things spring. The indoor/outdoor festival is a full day of fun, including train rides, egg dyeing and, of course, a visit from the Big Bunny himself. Kids can also check out animals provided by the Urban Farm, touch real musical instruments in Swallow Hill Music's "petting zoo," listen to storytelling and participate in craft projects. Bring along an unopened package of diapers to donate to WeeCycle and you'll be entered to win prizes. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Art: A rare Chihuly showing in Golden

Saturday - June 30. The Foothills Art Center has a big summer in store with "Chihuly Venetians: From the George R. Stroemple Collection." The exhibit features more than 45 works from famed glass maker Dale Chihuly's series, inspired by art deco Venetian glass from the early 20th century. The show's highlight is theLaguna Murano Chandelier,with more than 1,500 pieces of glass. Also check out the vases, bottle stoppers and the artist's drawings.
